Bio

Chris Rafael serves as an Associate on the PFO Services team at PINE. In this role, he provides support to Fund treasurers and assistant treasurers for a variety of 1940 Act registered funds. A few of his key responsibilities include reviewing expense budgets, aiding in the audit process, reviewing regulatory fund filings, and reviewing valuation changes of private investments. He ensures each client is following the most up-to-date regulatory changes and practices that impact the 1940 Act registered funds.  

Chris has been active in the financial services industry since 2019 with a background in mutual fund accounting, fund operations and cash management for closed end funds, open end funds, interval funds and funds of funds. His most recent experience included supervising a team of fund accountants to strike daily net asset value and other fund accounting tasks. His experience in the industry enables him to provide thoughtful guidance and solutions to help his clients achieve their goals.  

Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Information Systems from Salisbury University. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, volleyball, pickleball, frisbee golf, and hiking with his wife.
