Bio
Jason Self serves as an Associate Director at PINE, serving as CFO for both Open and Closed-End private funds providing financial and accounting support for hedge funds, private equity funds, and other private investment vehicles. Jason leverages his experience to oversee key operational functions for alternative investment vehicles, including client reporting, fund accounting, capital activity, and daily NAV production. He works closely with clients, administrators, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, strong data integrity, and efficient operational processes.
Jason has been active in the alternative investment and hedge fund industry since 2004. Having previously worked at HFR Asset Management and Apex Group, Jason held the role of Director, where he was responsible for NAV oversight for hedge funds and managed accounts, operational processes including cash movements, wire approvals, and creating custom investor report packages, and acted as the point person for annual audits, capital activity reconciliations, and explanatory support for financial statements. In addition, he has experience with data automation, investment due diligence, and regulatory and compliance reporting, accountable for hedge fund portfolios ranging from $5 million to $1 billion. Jason earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, staying active, and connecting with friends.
