PINE is excited to spotlight Pete Sattelmair, one of our Directors on the Fund Principal Financial Officer (PFO) Services! Peter brings years of experience and expertise to the team!

Prior Experience

Pete started his career at State Street in Boston straight out of college.  After spending nine years in several fund accounting and fund administration roles, he relocated to State Street's Kansas City office to help build out the fund administration footprint in that location for the next six years.  Then he took an opportunity to relocate to Denver and work at Transamerica in their asset management team which was moving their primary location of operations from St. Petersburg. Having already moved once for a job, Pete packed up the house and moved a little farther west.  After spending seven years at Transamerica, PINE was in his future! Pete has been at PINE for over 4 years and has been an integral member of the Fund PFO serves team.

Get to Know Pete!

We asked Pete a few questions to provide our readers with some insight into her background and personality.

Why did you join PINE?

One of my former and (now current) colleagues who I met in Kansas City joined PINE in its early stages.  As PINE began to expand, the team was looking to expand.  I met with Derek, J.B., and a few other team members and knew it was an opportunity to join a growing company with so much potential and top-notch talent that I had to be a part of it.  Having worked at PINE for just over 4 years now, this has been one of the best decisions and most rewarding experiences in my career.

What is your favorite movie?

I spent too much time internally debating what to choose!  I love all movie genres, so it is really tough to pick just one.  I’m going with The Big Lebowski, a great movie with a great soundtrack and so many quotable lines!

What is something you recommend everyone do or try at least once?

Based on my experience relocating for jobs, I’d say if you have the opportunity to move to a new city for a job opportunity, go for it!  My first move to Kansas City was largely based on the “what ifs” and the thought of regretting not taking the opportunity later in life.  It might not always work out, but at least you know.  It’s been great for me, and I have no regrets.

What are some of your favorite weekend activities?

Spring and summer are dedicated to camping, concerts, and other family activities.  Winter and spring are all about skiing with friends and family.  Fall is the in-between season where we relax and watch football.  I’m a New England sports fan at heart and like to put the games on whenever possible.

Anything else you would like to share about yourself?

I’ve known my wife, Lynn, since 1995, and we’ve been married for 21 years. We usually forget it’s our anniversary until a family member reminds us (haha!).  I have three beautiful daughters, two were born in Kansas City, and one was born in Denver.  I also have two golden doodles.  We love Colorado and continue to explore new campgrounds, mountains, music venues, and new parts of the state every year.
